The history of the Wecotech Group

1985
Foundation of Wehrli Maschinenbau

In 1985, the foundation stone for today's Wecotech AG was laid by Hermann Wehrli. The founder, who was only 23 years old, pursued the vision of building machines and making a meaningful contribution to world events with his success. In the search for its own products, the former Wehrli Maschinenbau initially successfully gained a foothold in the contract manufacturing of CNC-machined machine parts. This gave the resourceful developer the opportunity to design and build machines and tools for the newly emerging metal chimney market. The expansion and reduction of chimney, ventilation and stove pipes was constantly developed and perfected until the former Wehrli Maschinenbau dominated the market. Within a short period of time, the new concepts also found favour in vehicle exhaust technology, in water-carrying pipe systems and many other averts.

1997
Wehrli Maschinenbau is transferred into two independent companies, Wecotech AG Tube-End-Forming and Wehrli Fertigungstechnik

As a well-known supplier of tools and machines for tube-end forming, it was decided in 1997 to separate contract manufacturing from mechanical engineering and to transfer Wehrli Maschinenbau into two independent companies, Wecotech AG Tube-End-Forming and Wehrli Fertigungstechnik.

2000
Foundation of Wecotech AG Telescopic-Fork

With the development of telescopic forks and components for bearings and conveyor technology, Wecotech AG Telescopic-Fork was founded in 2000, which has been supplying well-known plant manufacturers worldwide with its products ever since.

Foundation of Wecotech Hellas

In 2008, Hermann Wehrli responded to general globalization by founding Wecotech Hellas in order to secure competitive advantages with low-cost CNC parts manufactured in Greece.

2011
Foundation of Deutsche Wecotech GmbH

In order to have a foothold in the EU and to optimize customs processes with customers and suppliers, Deutsche Wecotech GmbH was founded in 2011 with the task of importing goods and components and exporting machines and tools. The competitive disadvantages for Switzerland, which is not a member of the EU, can thus be minimized to this day.

2014
Foundation of Wecotech AG Tools and Machines

In 2014, Wecotech began supplying the Swiss domestic market with machine tools and tools for machining technology and founded the subsidiary Wecotech AG Tools and Machines for this purpose, with the aim of maintaining competition for Swiss companies by purchasing good products at low prices.
